BMW India launches 1 series facelift and X1 M Sport priced at INR 29.9 Lakh and INR 37.9 lakh respectively
BMW, the German luxury carmaker today quite secretively launched the 2015 edition of 1 Series facelift and the X1 M Sport in India. The cars have been priced at INR 29.9 lakh and INR 37.9 lakh respectively (Both ex-showroom Thane). The Bavaria-based carmaker has only launched the 118d Sportline variant of the 1 Series and the sDrive20d M Sport version of the X1. Both the cars come with a number of cosmetic upgrades and some design changes.
The 2015 BMW 1 Series facelift is now a little bigger and dimensionally measures 4329mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1440mm in height. Cosmetic additions include brand new Bi-Xenon headlamps, redesigned kidney-shaped grille and a new low slung front bumper. The rear section also gets a pair of new L shaped tail lamps and chrome tipped twin tail pipes. Rest the car remains largely identical to the previous model.
As for the inside, the new 1 Series facelift offers updated upholstery options, chrome accented buttons, knobs and iDrive controller, and matte silver accents. The new 1 Series also comes with a single-zone automatic climate control is standard, while a dual-zone system is offered as optional. The gizmo additions include the iDrive infotainment system with a 6.5-inch free-standing display as standard.
On the other hand the new X1 is now a little more stylish and comes with an aggressive front fascia. On the exterior front the new X1 M Sport also dual beam projector headlamps, large kidney grille, small round fog lamps sporty front and rear bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels and high-gloss chrome tailpipe. Inside the new X1 M Sport offers a restyled cabin with leather-wrapped M steering wheel, instrument panel with contrasting stitching, BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite and other minor interior add-ons.
Under the hood, the 2015 BMW 1 Series is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine delivers 150 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque, while mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox powering the rear wheels. At the same time the new BMW X1 M Sport comes paired to a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 186.5 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque.
